At Conley's, we want our customers to have
success with plants they purchase from us. We don’t subscribe to the view (implicit in the approach to plants
taken by many of the “big box” stores) that a generous replacement policy somehow makes up for inferior plants
and/or inferior care. We do our best to start with good plants, well cared for.
This said, we also have what we believe to be a generous
replacement policy, as set forth below – but before setting it forth we wish to note the following:
Whether or not our stated policy applies to
a particular situation, any customer dissatisfied with results with any plant (or other product) is invited to discuss
the matter with us. We will do our best to provide satisfaction we judge to be fair and reasonable under the circumstances.
While our product quality is excellent, there inevitably are exceptions, and every year we make adjustments or make-goods
in situations that go beyond the terms of the stated policy.
With that as introduction:
CONLEY’S GUARANTEE POLICY
IF A TREE OR SHRUB PURCHASED AT CONLEY’S AND
GIVEN SUITABLE IN-GROUND PLANTING AND CARE FAILS TO SURVIVE INTO AND PERFORM APPROPRIATELY THE FOLLOWING YEAR, WE WILL GIVE
THE CUSTOMER A ONE-TIME REPLACEMENT OR STORE CREDIT FOR THE PRICE PAID. However, please note that this policy:
1. Is not applicable to damage or
loss resulting from conditions not due to the plant or our work, such as neglect (e.g. failure to water or provide winter
protection); abuse (e.g., mower man weedwhacks the trunk or deer damage); or extreme weather conditions. In particular,
Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Pieris, Mountain Laurel, Holly, and other broadleaf evergreens are not subject to guarantee
unless mulched and burlapped for winter protection.
2. Does not apply to perennials, grasses,
or ornamental vines.
3. Does not apply to trees and shrubs
on our “Trees and Shrubs Not Normally Guaranteed” List (link below) unless we have expressly advised the customer
that they may appropriately be planted in the location in question (as we often do when we plant them on a landscape job)
- in which case the Guarantee does apply, subject to the rest of its terms.
4. Is subject to timely payment in accordance
with our terms of all amounts due Conley’s from the customer.
Please note: unless specifically arranged in advance,
“we changed our mind” returns will be subject to Conley’s discretion, and in any event will not be accepted
unless the plant is returned promptly, in the original container and in good condition. Store credit will be given in
such cases.
Also note: while this will not
be required in most cases, we reserve the right to require proof of purchase where we doubt the plant was purchased at Conley’s
or believe it may have been purchased on special or sale (in which case store credit is given for the price actually paid).
If, despite this effort to be
as clear as possible, there are still questions - don't hesitate to ask. We want your experience at Conley's to be happy
and satisfactory - and we particularly want our customers to always feel that they have been treated fairly and
with integrity.
